Biff Olson is a good writer. What I mean is, he has a pleasant style that makes his writing effortless to read. Between that and his ability to "spin a yarn," the pages just seemed to slip by. The story begins with a compelling premise, then before I knew it, I was immersed in the tale, which turns out to be a thrill ride of mystery and intrigue, with any possible number of outcomes. The book reminded me of the first time I read a Sherlock Holmes novel. The plot's different, the characters are nothing alike...but the writing has the same lyrical quality. I couldn't put it down...and while I can usually predict how a novel is going to end, this one had me all the way to the last page. Great writing and a great story; who could ask for more?
By pure chance, I met Biff in a doctor's office in Stuarts Draft, VA. I was reading a book on my when Biff mentioned he had some books on . We struck up a conversation and I ordered "Listening for Blue Fog" and asked him how to autograph it. We both had a laugh. I've now read the book and consider it superb. He is an excellent storyteller. Biff, keep on writing!!
